Small Steps Create Big Shifts

I would assume that most people who choose education as a career, do so because of a strong or intrinsic desire to walk alongside others; to share knowledge and or to cultivate growth in others. I'm certain that I'm no different. For me however, the desire to teach was more than possessing a keen ability to share information or a desire to inspire others toward academic growth. As a young teacher I loved the pursuit of knowledge, but greater still was the grappling with ideas, with cause and effect, searching for the answers. That's what I loved the most, mulling over the details, asking all the questions and solving the problems at hand. So that is how I would approach the various questions before me in city government. It's not enough to simply hear the issue stated and render a subtle yay or nay. It's important to ask the questions, grapple with the many factors involved and settle with consensus on the better solution for the whole. Our greatest qualities as a political agent is to be inquisitive, discerning, and wise.
