What are residents telling me at the door

As I drive around the community and speak to folks at the door or while they work in their yards, a common theme is developing. Most of the people I'm speaking to are very concerned about the development of Bartow. They're concerned about who's coming in and how many developments we are being allowed in. The consensus for the most part is that there are too many large subdivisions being built, robbing the community of beautiful cattle lands and I couldn't agree more. I love the scenic landscapes as I drive along Hwy 60 on the outskirts of Bartow and I lament the looming loss of more landscapes along Hwy 98 that is on its way as well. I'm sure we all know that some additional housing will be needed in time after we have some positive strategic commercial growth as well as some necessary development of our infrastructure. Maybe the commission can require smaller developments with much larger lot sizes to help preserve the landscape and slow the growth to a more manageable rate. Maybe we hold off on housing development until we can build some additional schools to accommodate the local community growth. Something to think about.
